Just in time for the holidays, a round-up of the best movies on the streaming service everybody subscribes to but isn’t sure why. 70 films you can pretty much bet on, with 20 broken out as specific recommendations.
Thank you so much! This list is a great Christmas present, Ty Burr. There are so many really good movies whose titles I'd forgotten, like The Farewell, and Bardo, and here they are. Even if Netflix makes them come and go randomly, they are no longer buried among the dreck. Getting your Watch List is always a high point of my day, and getting this one is like finding that big shiny box under the tree that has just what you wanted inside...
Thank you so much for listing all the great movies on Netflix. I'm continually baffled by my friends and family who say there's nothing to watch on Netflix.
This is a great Christmas gift but I have seen nearly all the movies. Maestro is amazing. So are Cooper and Mulligan. Their argument scene on Thanksgiving is an all-time great scene. Obviously Cooper can direct, too
Lord have mercy, this list is fabulous. I think my husband fell in love with me all over again with the film I pulled out for us to watch last night. So good.
Thank you, Ty. I look forward to your posts and enjoy the clips and comments very much. Have a wonderful holiday.
Best regards,
Pippa
