HAHA! So glad to see the democrats united and letting the morons try to simply elect the clown bus monitor. And then fire him through the one-vote rule he's caved to. But the bigger picture is that they are destroying our government yet again. Dismantling how the congress is structured and run. They don't want to govern because they don't care about democracy. Ironic that today is January 6. Maybe it's time to rewatch Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.

Can you PLEASE leave politics out of your column? Stick with movies. We are ALL so sick and tired of politics and seek to escape it through movies and other art forms. iI I want political commentary I know where to find it.

I plan to record/watch those two—and also the films on just before them, “Three Comrades” (also with the luminous Sullavan) and the fabulous “Pygmalion,” with the great Wendy Hiller. Also went down the rabbit hole of their monthly schedule and found an old favorite, Bogdanovich’s “What’s Up Doc?” (Madeline Kahn, anyone?), on Jan 24, and an early treatment of Sholom Aleichem’s Tevye the Milkman stories, “Tevya” (Jan 27). What a treasure that channel is!
I KNOW WHERE I'M GOING is on the Criterion Channel. THE MORTAL STORM is available on DVD through the Minuteman Library system in eastern Massachusetts. I have found many movies. there. The DVDs are generally in good shape.
Thanks for saving me from missing the TCM picks. I had missed that I Know Where I’m Going was a Powell/Pressburger film and had not set it to tape. That has been rectified.
We get in-theater movies a bit later here. This weekend we got Corsage and Aftersun and enjoyed them both. We were glad we stayed for the credits for Corsage. Hair is important here but what do you think is the meaning of that mustache at the end? Does she envy the Emperor's facial hair? Corsage should get an Oscar nomination for makeup and hairstyling.
