I very much like Roger Michell at his best, so I'm looking forward to "The Duke." I saw "Anais in Love" at the Cleveland International Film festival. I found the character insufferable at first, but as her machinations became more complex, as she seemed to be be starting for the first time to look at herself, I found the movie more involving. I think in the end the movie leaves it to us to decide if her next steps in life will be any different. But, yes, the Trier film is so much better at getting us to view clearly both the character and her impact on others.
