Did Harvard ever do an update of this? If not, it would be great to get a 2022 list together to celebrate the decade since the 1st.

Also, I had a GREAT idea that Jordan Peele should produce a series based on The Parable of the Sower and it's sequel! It could be like The Walking Dead, just with the survivors trying to exist amongst the other survivors. It would all be told in flashback as Lauren's ancestors tell tales of her growing awareness of Earthseed.

I'm old enough that I saw Dr. NO when it was new, in theaters. And several other Bond flicks with Sean Connery....and when I was 12 or 13, I read a bunch of Ian Flemings novels, which I now regard as suitable for a 12 year old. And I'm past that. I cannot STAND any Bond Movies...i have a slight twinge of nostalgia for the very old ones, but I cannot stand any of them. Haven't seen all of them, but I've seen every actor that's played Bond since, and I think the hightly rated Daniel Craig ones are as ridiculous as the rest. The only good thing I can think of about the glut of Bond movies is that they gave Mike Meyers something to make fun of, Baby!

Thoroughly enjoyed the Bond film in IMAX, for the gorgeous settings, a staple in the franchise, and I thought the action sequences were some of the best ever. My favorite bit was when the vintage Aston Martin is surrounded at the end of a great chase sequence, and being fired upon, its windows spider-webbing at each theatre seat-shaking blast…and then miraculously rescues itself (no full spoiler revealed by me 😉 sorry!)

Not sure I ever really understood the devious plot in the script, but I saw Ralph Fiennes as perhaps “Fauci-esque,” so, yes, I think the delay in releasing the film led to my seeing the film differently than I would have back in April 2020.

My husband and I don’t mind “private screenings” so have sought out films throughout the pandemic, wherever venues were brave enough, or stupid enough in the case of those that won’t be re-opening, to run films in nearly empty houses.

That said, we’ve also cut WAY BACK on going out anywhere, and spend almost every night watching something that has been recommended to us, which is why it’s great to have your column and enjoy your newfound freedom to suggest the cinematic gems you discover and experience. Seriously, your new watchlist is a valuable service, for which I had no qualms about paying $ to support! And I’d ask others who enjoy it to consider joining monetarily, as well.
