I'm shot from the Toronto International Film Festival and am taking the rest of the week off. Here's a list of new movies in theaters and on demand, plus a photo of my dog.
Thanks for recommending "The Crowd' on your recent post. I loved it - surprised that it dealt with marital discord so adroitly amidst the nonsense films of the twenties. The actress playing Mary should have had a more memorable career in Talkies in the 30s! "Waiting for one's ship to come in" is an unfortunate but universal theme well depicted in this film.
Just a quick recommendation / thumbs up for Murina, which I really liked. It's Euro drama-thriller of a familiar sort, but it's tightly executed, the specificity is really well defined, and the lead performance esp. is really good. Also the setting is gorgeous. I thought it was great.
😂 to Bodhi driving the golf cart!
Bodhi looks good behind the wheel! A natural! Is he a deerhound cross, by chance?

If you see The Woman King, stay through the first part of the credits; there's a bonus scene with the wonderful Sheila Atim.
Go, Bodhi! We believe in you!
