I've been wanting to watch EO, but am afraid that the cruelty of humans might be too heartbreaking to watch, even if no animals were really hurt. I loved Jenny in Banshees.
Thanks Ty, for Criterion recommendations! Love Criterion, but so many choices are bewildering and I sometimes spend more time deciding what to watch than I do watching my eventual choice. Liked the long version of "Metropolis" and "Distant Voices Still Lives". Some of the very old films that show up there are like an eclectic anthropology course.
