Thanks- I find your reviews and your cinema commentary in general very valuable. "Celine and Julie . . . " is of course one of the most unusual and delightful cinematic concoctions of all time!

Thanks for the Washington Post link. The comments were great; you really stirred people up. I just watched your clip from CNN. I never watched Animal House; I spent the summer of 1978 where togas were invented.

In recent NY Times review of sorts, the 'critic' wrote: "Some people want to be impressed by a movie, but I only ask to be entertained." (...it wasn't Wesley Morris.) For this I pay NY Times daily home delivery prices? I could just ask my pals on the bowling team how they felt. I get that not every film is by Herzog and criticism of ANY type is facing a daunting national mindset but, boy, do I miss Roger Ebert. Keep that smidgen alive!!
