Watch List Weekly Recap 4/22/22
This week: Romance in Paris, 10 picks for the city's best film festival, and, for Friday, Vikings, little mothers, and Nicolas Cage as himself (sort of).
This is the Friday recap of Ty Burr’s Watch List postings for the week. If you’d like to receive this weekly email ONLY, please go to your account page and under “Email notifications” uncheck every box except “Weekly Digest.” If you’d prefer to not receive it at all, uncheck just “Weekly Digest.”
For Monday, a look at the latest French twist from director Jacques Audiard — “Paris, 13th District” (in theaters and available on demand, *** stars out of ****) — and a look back at this talented filmmaker’s peripatetic career.
The Independent Film Festival of Boston starts next Wednesday but tickets are available now. I have some suggestions. (That’s “Good Luck to You, Leo Grande,” with Emma Thompson, below.)
For your weekend delectation, three new films to see in theaters (including Robert Eggers’ rip-snorting “The Northman,” below), and a recent oldie but very goodie on Amazon Prime.
Thanks for reading! Feel free to pass Ty Burr’s Watch List along to your friends.
