Hi Mr. TY...Sorry you lost your friend Jim. Good colleagues make life better. Jim and I shared afflictions apparently as Depression & $$ issues are on my short list. I have all sorts of creditors lined up to use my fixed income each month, and they're not good about getting out of their policy-laden fortresses. Sigh. Happily, I am very verbal, so can waste the time and test the patience of CS folks across the spectrum! On we go. If you wanna blab, my current phone is 602-754-5721. Best from the West, Paul L.

Ty,

This is out of place, but I have been catching up on your columns and wanted to maximize the chance you saw this one.

Basically, I think everyone, movie reviewers included hit flat spots - the films look alike, and the columns get there as well. Frankly I was starting to feel that way about your columns - however this morning I read your review of Vertigo and Vampire’s Kiss - both were absolutely outstanding writing and I tremendously enjoyed your insights - if you were feeling ennui for your work, or perhaps it was just me, but these recent columns have in my opinion been masterworks of film comment and criticism - best of all it made me want to rewatch both films.
