I also want to say Happy New Year and THANK YOU for the work you put into this newsletter/watch list (I'm not sure what to call it). Your clever yet grounded and sincere writing always creates buzz in my soul for the movies. I lose that sometimes - so thank you!

Black at Yale was a find. I enjoyed all of the interviews - gave me a lot to think about in regards to my assumptions about college, education and especially people. I especially liked the moment with the two women at Yale arguing with the man who was not an enrolled student. Great recommendation. I haven't watched the other film yet.

I found "Street Corner Stories" profoundly moving and yet I can't even say why. Something about these particular people, in a particular time, in a particular place. A beautiful snapshot, if you will. Perhaps it's because I attended City College for four years in Harlem, in the 60s. lt just seems a very True piece of art.
