Thanks Ty. I have been ranting about Viola Davis since I saw it the first time last month. Just saw it again. Add Widows to this...wow.

I look forward to seeing "Sharper"--it sounds like a good time.

About "Sunrise"--Murnau's use of the mobile camera in this film still stands as one of the most astonishing developments in cinematography. Few if any have ever done it better. And it's a deeply romantic film. Andrew Sarris wrote beautifully about the film in his classic book, The American Cinema.

Thank you for this.... I would have missed Return to Seoul, I'm leaving on vacation on the 9th — with my Korean adopted son, who lives in Miami — want to see it before I recommend it to him; he is very ambivalent about Korea.

I’m so glad you keep tucking in a word about Silent classics from time to time. Makes me happy.

I am stoked to watch The Woman King on my gigantic living room projector! I got a projector in the days when it was just for “classrooms” and it was the best thing I did in years.

Btw, what’s the word on Party Down, aside from the fact that the marketing is brilliant? I am craving its arrival. STARZ of all people.
