I loved this movie when I saw it when it was first release. I was surprised by the humanity in the themes of the story.

After reading Ty's recommendation I decided to watch it again and I totally forgot how good the makeup is for the two outcast especially when you look up the actors who play them. And somehow I forgot the scene he references but now I don't think I'll ever forget it.

Vore calls Tina and himself “trolls” In Scandinavian folklore, a troll is a giant, monstrous being, sometimes possessing magic powers. Hostile to men, trolls lived in castles and haunted the surrounding districts after dark. If exposed to sunlight they burst or turned to stone. So Vore is not totally accurate.

My heart went out to Tina, a gentle soul taken advantage of by Vore and her housemate and lied to by her “daddy.”

I have tried repeatedly over the past few days to view Borders, but only got notices of previews. I would very much like to watch it but I don’t know how to access it. When I type in the name in my Netflix search it responds ‘nothing matches “Borders”’. Help!

I watched it after reading your column. I felt so sorry for what Tina had been through and how she had been treated, mostly by her "boyfriend" and then by Vore. The makeup and costuming were excellent. I can't get this movie out of my mind. Thank you, Ty.

One of the films that I have never forgotten. How could you? A film that challenges you to interrogate what you are feeling and ultimately gives you the gift of understanding yourself more. The beauty of a creative imagination and the artistry to manifest it to create a film like this!
