The Sisters Brothers (⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 1/2, streaming on Prime, for rent at Amazon, YouTube, and elsewhere). A grubby, funny, emotionally resonant Western picaresque, with a tremendous four-cornered cast.
Ty I was looking for a movie after binge watching Succession (season 2) the past few nights along with finishing the sneaky good Mrs. Davis and this didn't disappoint. Always been a fan of Westerns which are now unicorns in the current movie landscape and this one was done well. Great cast and you're right a movie that really figured out to utilize JCR. Ahmed has also seen his career takeoff the past few years so he was good in this as well (Sound of Metal - a must see). Keep these recommendations coming since I probably don't find this on Prime without the assist.
I missed this one but saw it about a year ago. I was taken by surprise by how good it was. I don't remember it when it was released. Two other great westerns IMO I only saw in the last year, OH Henry, and the very dark, devastating Never Grow Old. These aren't comedies.
