Loving this movie is like being in on a delicious secret. No, it is like being in on a secret. The film took in $200,126 at the box office. Box Office vs Quality is a good topic for another day, Mr. Burr.
In watching it again, I was reminded how distracting the final parts of the movie are because of Josephine de la Baume. Also, how Philip and Ike want women in their lives -- on their terms. Just be there and shut the fuck up. Unfortunately I have known guys like that. I did not punch them in the face. But I shoved one against a wall and had a chat with him. Had forgotten about that.
It's a brilliant film; my late wife considered it one of the very best of its decade.
Alright, Iโm watching this tonight. Hoping I donโt (but afraid I will) recognize myself, sorta. ๐
