I'm terminally suspicious of Wes Anderson, because he always seems to be teetering on the (very precarious and crumbly) brink of overbearing preciousness. Then he manages to pull back just enough to make a great film-it'll be sometime before I wade into the French Dispatch. Dune, on the other hand, I can't resist. I'm the only boostered member of my family (as yet), so I'll likely just sit six inches from the flat screen...

I am totaally with jac, the post just after me. I mostly gave up on him a good while ago....I think the one I liked was the one with Bill Murray and Gene hackman and a wealthy NY family (now I will found out that wasn't even by Wes Anderson, so it goes). His movies usually have some good side, but he manages to ruin them (for me, your mileage may vary).

Dune is definitely worth seeing(safely) on the biggest screen possible, despite the cost of being exposed to Zimmer's noises with the sound set to 11.

Hopefully Ty Burr will get to see Dune Part Two and provide a review before March 2. As a huge fan of the books, the previous adaptations (yes, even David Lynch's version), and Part 1, the trailer for part 2 has made me wary. I'll see it on the big screen regardless, but I'd prefer to have my expectations managed by a professional. Thanks!
