Listen now | When was the last time you watched “No Country for Old Men” (⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐)? Listen to critics Ty Burr and Isaac Feldberg discuss this bleak, brilliant Coen brothers epic -- arguably their greatest work to date.
Thanks Ty! Yes it’s been too long, for No Country. While I prefer his Tennessee novels, including The Passenger & Stella Maris, his western’s are great too. He will be missed. And the Coen film is true to his work, and simply their best. Although I did miss that other one, looking forward to your discussion on it… and 1st viewing.
I've probably seen it 5 or 6 times! I agree about A Serious man, which I need to see more times.
A film I would suggest for you (I think the date is right?) is Before The Devil Knows Your Dead..I could probably come up with a list. I did read the novel. Unlike in many instances, I prefer the movie.
I would guess that I've watched the full No Country for Old Men at least 50 times and certain scenes, like the coin flip in the gas station, at least 100 times. I think it's the movie that I've rewatched most.
I, too, think it's the Cohen Bros best movie, except for maybe most of their others. Their movies are so uniquely engaging and inventive that I can't have a fav. Except maybe Raising Arizona...
I JUST watched this for the first time, after reading Cormac McCarthy’s obituary. Unbelievable performances. Every one of them.
